Laguna Station Sea Base
Laguna Station, is operated by the Rio Grande Council. It is located on the southernmost point of South Padre Island, an extraordinary playground tucked away in a sun drenched corner of South Texas. Kawakawa Indians once camped on its beaches, pirate Jean Lafitte is said to have buried his plunder among its dunes. Shipwrecks dot its coasts.
Now, visitors from all over the country come to enjoy the sands, surf, unmatched weather and relaxed life-style. South Padre Island is famous for its beautiful weather and incredible sunsets. At Laguna Station, Scouts and Venturers experience a wide variety of the attractions that have made South Padre Island the most popular vacation spot in Texas. We are now apart of the best viewing spots for SpaceX launches occurring at Boca Chica Beach!

Camping for registered Cub Scout Packs, Troops, Venturing Crews and Sea Scout Ships is $20.00 for unit camping experiences. Please submit camp reservations using the link above and enjoy the wonders of one of the last natural areas in South Texas.
***Starting Spring 2021, registered Rio Grande Council families can now reserve Laguna Station for personal use at $20.00 per person. ***
Units will be required to have minimum 1 person:
- BSA Lifeguard Certified
- BSA Safe Afloat Trained
- BSA Safe Swim Trained
(Be aware that use of campsite equipment will require additional fees, when applicable. Please check for availability of facilities, as some dates aren’t available due to use for council events).
Camping for Out of Council Cub Scout Packs, Troops and Venturing Crews is $40.00 per participant. Please submit camp reservations using the link above. Enjoy the wonders of one of the last natural areas in South Texas.

- BSA Safe Swim Trained

Camping for Non-B.S.A,, L.F.L. Youth or Church groups is subject to $40.00 fee per participant. Please submit camp reservations using the link above. All required forms and fees must be paid submitted two weeks prior to event. Please be aware Liability Insurance requirements must be met before using any camp privately owned by the Rio Grande Council, Inc., Boy Scouts of America.
