Camping

The Rio Grande Council maintains two camps in the Rio Grande Valley: Camp Perry and Laguna Station.

Camp Perry is the council’s local Boy Scout Camp. It is the oldest continuously run camp in Texas and has been in existence for 76 years. Camp Perry is located 2 miles north of Rio Hondo, TX and runs along the Arroyo Colorado River. The camp covers over 260 acres with 12 large,scenic campsites.

Laguna Station is the council’s local High Adventure Sea Base which has been in existence for over nine years and has attracted hundreds of troops, crews, & posts from all over the country. Laguna Station is located on the southern tip of South Padre Island between the jetties and the U.S. Coast Guard.
